About the Author
Tracy Voorheis is the author and illustrator of Nibbles … a Strawberry Tale. She is a life long resident and explorer of the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of New York and was recognized as a graduating high school senior with the most artistic talent. She pursued her education in Advertising Design and Production. During her ten year advertising career she married and took courses in drawing and writing for young children. Wanting to be a stay-at-home mom Tracy opened a registered home day care with a preschool component for three years while enjoying many outdoor adventures. She soon developed a love of teaching and reading to her children and the preschool children in her care. Tracy received a bachelor’s degree with honors and is a certified NYS Elementary teacher. She received a Master’s degree in early childhood. She worked for a literacy program where she had many opportunities to use her talents as an artist and teacher.
She developed lessons that enhanced and increased a young child’s innate intellectual curiosity and ability to learn through active reading experiences that support math, art and science. Tracy’s goal is to inspire caregivers, parents and grandparents to read more with young children and discuss our world as an integral part of every child’s pre-school education. Nibbles … a Strawberry Tale is the first in a series of Nibbles adventures.
